Along with web design and web development services, Yomad Design implemented an ad server to enable Weedshare to create additional revenue streams by selling ad placements on the home page of their website. The resulting sponsorships totaled nearly 1,000,000 ad impressions over 12 months.
About the Technology:
Weedshare.com runs on a Windows web server and relys on an .ASPX template system using C#, XML, HTML and Javascript.
The template system offers a wide variety of pre-designed modules that pull their data from XML files. This made updates, as well as the addition of new web pages, easier to accomplish and was critical to maintaining fresh content on the home page and featured artist sections.
Music distribution won't be the same.
Shared Media Licensing took music distribution to new heights with the release of their digital music download service named Weed.
As the first legal digital music download service to simultaneously respect artists' rights and also encourage file sharing, Weed opened doors for many artists around the world, and also opened the eyes of the entire music industry.
Yomad has been fortunate enough to be a part of this exciting startup company by providing development, design, and marketing solutions for the last two versions of their site.
Although the Weedshare service suspended operations in April 2007, Yomad will continue to work closely with Shared Media Licensing to provide ongoing development support and innovative ideas.
